BECKY REHORN

Hello. My name is Becky.
I have always been a person of service and action rather than of waiting and watching. My mother always told the story where, in 1964, when I was one year old, she recorded my first phrase, “Becky, do it”, into my memory book. Learning and utilizing that knowledge is the core of my being, and overcoming obstacles has been, and continues to be the fuel I need to learn, plan, and practice. The best way to demonstrate this to people who do not know me is to briefly explain why I am where I am today.
My Story
I won't start at the very beginning; I will give enough to at least set the stage for my current situation.
In 1981, I earned a music scholarship for my trumpet-playing abilities at Tennessee Technological University, where I also entered the engineering program. In 1983, I met my future husband – a dairy farmer by birth and a poultry entrepreneur by vision. We married in 1985 and had two children - Robert in 1989 and Rachael in 1991. In May 1995, a tragic accident took the life of my first husband, and my new path was created.

At the time, my path was not clear and was also full of unexpected challenges. The first challenge occurred within two months of the accident when I was asked to leave the farm because my mother-in-law could not bear the grief of losing her only child. I honored her wishes, purchased a new home, and my two children and I left the farm.

Although there is much more to this story, this initial challenge caused me to use everything I had learned from my (then) 32 years of life to pull up my bootstraps and move forward. I have remarried, started and sold a company, received BS in marketing, an MBA, and most recently (09/24/2024), a doctor of management in organizational leadership.

I do, in fact, live by the first words I spoke: "Becky, do it." And, even in the most dire of situations or the most joyful celebrations, these words continue to resonate in my thoughts. I wrote a blog article that will explain more about my journey to becoming me, which you can read using the link below.
